COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Advanced Machine Innovations, LLC (AMI) was formed on May 11, 2020 by the two co-owners, Michael and Jonathan Waidelich. AMI is an engineering company, who designs and builds custom automated equipment and has developed several products for the manufacturing industry. AMI offers its customers custom turnkey solutions to address their specific process or material handling needs. This typically includes concept engineering, detailing, material, and commodity items purchasing, contracting fabrication, machining, assembly, shop testing, delivery, and installation. AMI is headquartered in the Midwest, Archbold, OH but has delivered projects throughout the continental United States.

AMI’s PURPOSE

AMI is focused on identifying and providing the simplest solution possible to meet our customer’s needs. Experience has shown that a cost effective, reliable, repeatable, and compact solution is the outcome when this focus is applied. When this outcome is achieved AMI’s customers are successful and that is the only way AMI can be successful.

Mike WaidelichMike is a co-founder of Advanced Machine Innovations (AMI) and brings 45 years of experience in mechanical engineering and process development. Mike serves AMI with engineering, machine design and manufacturing experience with custom solutions to give our customers a competitive edge.
In the early years of Mikes career he worked as a machine design engineer for a large manufacture. During the 23 years with this company he assisted with challenges of rapid growth and product expansion. During this time Mike played a key role in the development of new machinery and processes that would give the company a competitive advantage over their competitors.
Mike teamed with partner went on to start a machine design/build company who served many customers across many industries. This company worked with customers to design new machinery and processes that would allow them to expand capacity and improve efficiencies. Along with the new designs Mikes company often worked with customers who wanted to make upgrades to existing machinery and processes to improve efficiencies, capacity and quality. This company worked with customers on projects that ranged in size from very small to large investments, assuring attention to detail and value.
In 2014 Mike sold his share of the machine design/build company and worked again for a manufacturer. During this time Mike would support the fast growing company with engineering work that included capacity additions, efficiency and quality upgrades.

Jon WaidelichJonathan is a co-founder of Advanced Machine Innovations (AMI) and brings over 13 years of mechanical engineering and project management experience. Jonathan serves AMI’s customers with engineering, project management and custom turnkey solutions.
Originally from northwest Ohio, Jonathan graduated from Trine University in Angola, IN in 2010 where he also passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam to obtain his Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status.
During his time at Trine, and then full-time after graduation, Jonathan started his career in the Facilities Department of an automotive research and development company. He worked with other departments to identify necessary upgrades and to improve reliability of the mechanical utilities. He would then lay out the cost-benefit justification for the upgrades and oversee execution of the project through planning, engineering, construction, and startup. His mechanical utilities experience included hot and chilled water systems, compressed air, natural gas and HVAC&R, and thermal oxidizer emission reduction systems.
Jonathan left the automotive industry to work as a consulting engineer in the heavy industrial sector. His work included evaluations, preliminary and detailed designs, cost estimates, equipment specification development, equipment and materials procurement support, and construction support. Jonathan’s work focused on mechanical systems including steam, compressed air and gas piping/pumping and blowing systems, liquid and slurry pumping and piping systems, mechanical and pneumatic conveying systems, industrial heating, cooling and ventilation systems, and machine design applications for power generation, liquid and gas pipeline, manufacturing, and mining customers.
Jonathan left consulting to focus on machine design and build for the aerospace and defense industry where he engineered, designed, and provided build support for custom automated test equipment.
In addition to the above work experience, in 2014 Jonathan passed the mechanical Professional Engineering (PE) Exam to obtain his Michigan Professional Engineering license, which he has maintained ever since.
